My Bible Study Is Wide Awake To The TTATT
by James Jack ini ran into my old bible study at the kingdom hall recently, he was baptized as a jw 8 years ago.
we started talking about small things and catching up about our families and then the bombshell.. "my wife and i are deeply troubled by the watchtower change of doctrine, prophecy, and their history"!
"did you know about charles russell and his failed marriage... his view of pyramids... generation mistakes... and dates... that place in california for returning prophets..."and on and on he went.. i told him i knew all about it and then show him a publication on display in the foyer (i think it is divine plan of the ages), and it had a fold out of a pyramid and a description on bible verses that showed 1914 was the year the big a was going to happen.

Looks like you will be forever attending the hall and never just quitting to get on with your one and only life at that rate. Your (and his) kids dont need "spiritual guidance" either, that is just cult speak, what they need are loving parents who do not impose false beliefs and superstitions on them that cripple them emotionally and mentally possibly for life. -

I'm not clicking on any watchtower crap, so i'll just take your word for it and save myself the mental stains imposed. -

Saw Deadpool last night, it was all right, I did LOL a couple of times but it isnt as funny as the video game character. Maybe Deadpool 2 will be more on the money. All the dubs who see it will be talking about it in hushed tones... -

Did Jesus really suffer? Really?
by purrpurr inso over the course of three days he had a trial which doesn't seem to have bothered him much.
he got whipped ok that would have been agony and then put on a torture stake/ cross/ whatever yes that would have been hell.
but he was on it for a day and the whole thing lasted for three days.

If it makes us money while giving the sheeples a goodly indoctrination session of Fear Obligation and Guilt then who's going to say no to that? We'll find a scriptural precedent for whatever the hell we like, we are the Guardians Of Doctrine. -

Starting threads
by Landy inany chance of people resisting the urge to start new threads when the subject is already being discussed?.
the prince threads are a good example.
instead of one interesting to read thread with lots of replies you end up with forty threads with one or two replies.

Witness My Fury
I'm off to start a thread called "starting threads for dummies" because you've clearly just given me the idea and i'm far too important to not have my own thread about it.
It's (all about) me not you, you understand?
Anyhoo, sarcasm off....(click)

A troubling visit with a satisfying end.
by Bonsai inso, i've been out for 2 years now.
just picked up and walked away from the wacky religion that tried to control every part of my life through fear and guilt.
i've been wondering as the months go by what would happen when an elder finally showed up at my door and pressed the issue as to why i ceased all activity and then tried to reactivate me.

And here I was thinking this must be a thread about going to the loo.
Anyhoo, glad you maintained your dignity and got the bonus at the end. Can you give us a hint whereabouts this might be within the nearest 100 miles?

UK: Would anyone like to attend Frank Otuo's next hearing against the Watchtower? Or send him your support?
by defender of truth inwww.standard.co.uk/news/jehovahs-witness-sues-for-150000-after-church-snubbed-him-over-fraud-claims-9750062.htmlfrank otuo is suing the watchtower for disfellowshipping him and causing the loss of his family and his friends, after being disfellowshipped based on a false accusation of fraud.on friday may 13th 2016, a hearing will take place to decide whether the watchtower's defence will be thrown out.otuo is confident that it will be.
;)would anyone like to be there on the day, to see what happens and maybe even report back and tell us what you saw?.
otuo would like it if some people could be there to cheer him on, as it were.

@Akromo
How do you know the letter never existed?
You seem to know a lot about it and seem to post a lot only about this, so i have to ask you what is your relationship to Frank Otuo?
Sounds like a lot of greed going on there and always someone gets stung in that mix.
We had a couple of different people like that too,one ended up an elder, always looking to make a quick buck and not too fussed about how, stepping on anyone in their way and suing anyone unfortunate enough to get on the wrong end of their dealings. They dont garner any sympathy from me.
